Someone asked me if a stand-up comedian’s performance is storytelling. That was an easy question. The answer is…yes. And don’t most of us love those funny stories? We relate to the events happening in the story, laugh out loud, sneak peeks at each other when some of the situations hit home, and wait in anticipation for the ending…hopefully an unexpected one.
We all tell stories and jokes (Jokes are also a form of storytelling, but you better remember the punchline!). Just think what happens when we sit down at Thanksgiving dinner. The old family stories come pouring out, and we don’t even mind if we’ve heard them before.
But if I have to hear that same story about my husband’s crazy uncle one more time…
